45 Degree Bend Matt Black Vitreous Enamel Stove Pipe

Our stove pipe is a matt black vitreous enamel connecting flue pipe which is used in stove fittings or when inserts and ranges are being installed.

A 45 degree bend matt black vitreous enamel stove flue pipe is generally used with a stove or range that has a similar diameter to the stoves collar either at the top or back of the stove or range.

Generally, a stove fitter will use a coloured pipe such as a 45 degree bend of 5″ matt black vitreous enamel stove flue pipe because it will be visible and can be seen. This pipe is considered a decorative flue pipe.

A 45 degree bend matt black vitreous enamel stove flue pipe is normally used in one of four ways; fitted to another piece of vitreous enamel stove flue pipe, to a length of flexible chimney liner with a manchette start-off adapter, to a twinwall rigid insulated flue system or to a clay pot or gradual adapter inserted into an existing clay flue liner installed inside a masonry or concrete built chimney.

The male (narrow) end of the stove flue pipe should always be pointed downwards after fitting it. When two pieces of vitreous enamel stove flue pipe are joined, a heat resistant sealant should be used.

In Ireland, if you connect the 45 degree bend of 5″ matt black vitreous enamel stove flue pipe to a flexible flue chimney liner or a twinwall rigid insulated flue system, the solid fuel burning stove, insert or range is only permitted to burn smokeless fuel or biomass wood pellets. However, if you join the 45 degree bend matt black vitreous enamel stove flue pipe to a flexible flue chimney liner or a twinwall rigid insulated flue system, it is also permitted to burn bituminous coal, peat and seasoned timber.

In our opinion, it is not advised to expose more that 2 meters of matt black vitreous enamel stove flue pipe as this can reduce chimney draught because the flue gases will begin to cool down as the pipe is uninsulated.
